Want to stop hating your body? Here’s how…

Lead With Strength. Embody Your Truth. Spread The Love.

Last week I attended a screening of the documentary Embrace with a few of my girlfriends…and it was SO FREAKING GOOD.

If you’re unfamiliar with the movie, it’s all about ending the global body-hating epidemic, an issue that most of you in this community know is very near and dear to my heart.

It reminded me of the original intention of this evolving business of mine, Strong Body Love – of helping women to feel more powerful and confident in their body temples at any size, and to show themselves the love and respect that they SO deserve in this life. And this mission is still at the core and root of this business, because if you don’t appreciate your body and are hating it, it’s tough to feel confident in your ability to lead.

Women, the truth is that your body is MIRACULOUS. It is your soul’s mate and is the only true asset that we have in this life… {Click to Tweet}

Our bodies deserve love and respect, and we MUST learn how to appreciate its wisdom in all of its brilliance… and then teach this love to others and set a positive example for our children.

So first thing is first, do yourself a favor and go see this movie.

You can go to gathr.us/films/embrace to find a screening near you…and if you can’t find one, you can host one!

Secondly, because of this movie, I have been re-inspired to make my beloved Body Compassion Bootcamp Available for my community again. This is a 6-week home study training course for women who are ready to uncover and heal the disempowering beliefs they hold around their bodies so that they can move forward in their lives feeling empowered, embodied and a deep sense of freedom from within.

I’ve taken over 100 women through this experience but it’s been over 2 years since I’ve made it available to the public. I’ll be releasing the course again soon so if you know you’re a YES to this even before we release, shoot me an email at ashley@strongbodylove.com and we’ll put you on the waitlist to make sure you know when we do. <3

Lastly, I’d like to leave you with 3 of my favorite strategies for boosting positive body image.

1. Appreciate all of the amazing things that your body can do and start a gratitude list specifically for your body temple. Celebrate where your body has taken you, what you’ve be able to accomplish with it and all that it has given to you. Mama’s, it has birthed a life out of it…how absolutely incredible! Travelers, it’s has gotten you from point A to point B…you see where I’m going with this! :)

2. First thing in the morning, instead of getting up and heading to the mirror to wash your face and brush your teeth, roll outta bed and meditate first. Build a little altar in your bedroom consisting of a few special items to remind you to sit, find a comfortable seated position, close your eyes, breathe deep and just BE in your body. Perhaps recite a mantra to yourself like, “My body is wise and miraculous” and notice how you feel differently in your body and about your body in just a few minutes.

3. When you DO look in the mirror, instead of noticing what you don’t like about your body, find at least 1 thing that you DO like about yourself. So instead of “damn girl, look at those flabby thighs, or wow your ass looks big”, find something you can appreciate, and get specific about it…i.e. “I really like the dark blue outer rim of my light turquoise blue eyes, and I give thanks that I can see out of these beauties!”

Alright dear ones, I hope this has inspired you, go see EMBRACE and sending love your way!
