Hey Dear Friends!

Checking in this week to see how the No Complaining, Gossiping, or Criticizing 21 Day Challenge is going for you. I know these biggies are tough to kick but I encourage you recommit if you’ve fallen off the wagon and keep up the positive work.

Now that you’re starting to release the negative banter, I’m gonna go further with this concept and share with you my 6 favorite strategies to raise your positive vibes so you can step into a deeper and more empowered space of leadership.

As Einstein said, “Everything Is Vibration”…everything has a vibration (ourselves included) and some things/people/activities raise our vibes and some lower them.

You know what I’m talking about…when you’re at a happy hour and someone’s hardcore bitching about how terrible their day was, you end up fully engaging in the conversation and going down with them.

When we surround ourselves around people, places, things and activities that suck our energy, our vibration lowers as well and we feel like shit. And the same is true when we surround ourselves around positive people and engage in uplifting activities… We end up feeling awesome and that positive energy is what attracts people to us, as well as attracting our ideal clients/students/team members to work with us.

So without further ado, here are my top 6 tips to raise your positive vibes so you can thrive in business & leadership.

1. Release Icky Feeling Activities & Folks Who Bring You Down

Its important to fill our days with things that energize and inspire us.  And the truth is that we as leaders can’t AFFORD to be engaging in soul sucking activities or things that don’t feel good to us.

I invite you to make one list of the things you do in a week that feel icky to you and another list of what feels good and lifts you up.

Allow yourself to do this all week and at the end of the week choose 3 items from the icky side and delegate them to others or eliminate them from your routine.  Then choose 3 things that make you feel stellar (i.e. buy yourself flowers, meditate twice daily, call up a friend that you love) and prioritize these yummies now.

2.  Clean Out House

Clutter is a surefire way to lower your positivity.  Spend a week cleaning out your office, bedroom, drawers and purse.  Donate books and clothes to friends and Goodwill, let go of old magazines and papers, and clean all the receipts out of your wallet and file.

I recently did this and donated 10 huge garbage bags to Goodwill and completely felt like a new woman. Yes please!

3. Have a Clearing Conversation With a Loved One

So many of us have relationships in our lives that feel heavy and incomplete.  It doesn’t mean that we have to end these relationships, but the idea is to focus on dealing with that thing in the relationship that feels unfinished so it can stop dragging us down and holding us back.

My suggestion here is to hold a clearing conversation — approaching the convo free of judgment and really hearing what the person has to say.  Start the conversation by taking responsibility for whatever you can take responsibility for, and then be open to hearing their side of the story. Ask to hear about how the experience was like for them, then after they’ve shared ask if they’d like to hear your experience.

Confrontation is difficult, but when you approach it in a mindful way it can be a fierce act of leadership. Taking responsibility and hearing their side allows your dear one to feel safe to open up and share. I recently had a client hold a conversation with her sister that she was experiencing conflict with, and now they have monthly sister dates on the books to hang out just the two of them… Talk about raising the positive vibes!

4.  Immerse Yourself in Nature

Most of us in this techy age are starved for contact with nature. And when we do, we actually help restore our body’s natural electrical balance, allowing us to feel a deeper sense of health and positivity.

So…go lie in that little patch of grass, walk on the beach, take a hike and hug that tree. Your mind and body will thank you dearly and you’ll feel SO MUCH BETTER for it.

5.  Stop, Drop & Sit

Wanna seriously raise your vibrations? Meditate people.

In 2004, Richard Davidson, PhD, director of the Laboratory for Affective Neuroscience at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, found that folks who meditated consistently showed more electrical activity in the brain’s left prefrontal cortex–an area associated with positive mood, than those who didn’t.

This physiological finding fits with the experience of many meditators who find that they became happier, healthier and less prone to anxiety and depression after they began to practice meditation.  Do it…

6.  Bust a Move

Ok, so most of you know when you exercise your body releases endorphins and you feel better. These bad boys trigger feelings of euphoria and can also diminish the perception of pain. This is one of the most surefire ways to raise your vibrations, so dance it up, yoga it out, climb, hike, walk, bike, shake, bake… you catch my drift.

Alright sweet friends, choose a few of these positive vibe enhancers, schedule them in, commit to raising your positivity and share what happens in the comment section below we’d love to hear from you!

Always with love,
