As I mentally prepare to walk down the aisle this weekend, I contemplate two deep thoughts… How do I want to feel? And what is most important to me? For me it’s not about being stick thin and looking like a version of myself that’s going to blow right back up right after I go on my honeymoon. It wasn’t about going to bridal boot camp during my engagement, and going on a crazy crash diet a few months before my wedding. What it’s all about for me is how I want to FEEL in my body and in my life on this special day, and how I deeply desire to move forward with grace into this new phase of my life.
How I want to feel as I walk down that aisle is FREE. I want to feel freedom in my body, in my mind, and in my life. I want to feel light, yet grounded…and I want to experience my ultimate goal of inner peace and true happiness.
Now I know this seems like a lot for a bride to be asking for, but this is what I’ve been focusing and meditating on for the last few months, and I know by doing so, I’ll be that much closer to my goal… It’s not about reaching the finish line, but it’s about enjoying the process along the way, and moving forward to new heights that you’ve never experienced before…and I can honestly say that in the past few months of my engagement, I’ve experienced some of the most profound personal growth of my life, and I am extremely proud of what I’ve accomplished mentally and physically.
Currently I’m at my wedding location, at this expansive and beautiful setting at my fiancé’s aunt and uncle’s home on the Trinity River surrounded by the Trinity Alps. It’s GORGEOUS here. And that brings me to what is MOST important to me, and that is expansion and connection. Connection to self, to spirit, and to my loved ones. And when I’m in an expansive location such as this one, I can CONNECT so much more easily, because my mind is clearer somehow. Perhaps it’s the lack of electric power lines running over my head, maybe it’s the fresh air, or it could be the fact that I’m currently residing this week in a town of 100 humans rather than 800,000.
Regardless, what this wedding has got me thinking about is what’s most important, and THAT my sweet friends is REAL CONNECTION. What true connection allows for you to do is to STAY PRESENT. And when you’re present, well, then you’re REALLY LIVING and EXPERIENCING YOUR LIFE.
So what can you do today to connect more deeply to yourself and your body? What can you do to connect in a more intimate way with your loved one’s? How do you REALLY want to feel in your body and in your life? What is most important to you? Take time today to contemplate and meditate on these questions, and JOIN ME in the celebration of LIVING HAPPY AND FREE!
Much love, and light, and talk with you next when I’m a married woman!
