In Mid-October of 2024, I found myself at a pretty low point.
I’d moved back to my hometown in rural IL a year earlier, after spending nearly 20 years in the SF bay area…
Over 8 of which were in my “soul home” Petaluma — where I built a community that filled my cup to the brim, and a life I thought I might stay inside forever…
And yet… I followed the divine nudge to come back to my roots – to be closer to my dad as he navigates Parkinson’s, and be closer to our Midwest fam.
My hubby and I made that choice consciously. Lovingly. Willingly.
And yet — the grief was moving through me like a slow river…
On the outside, I kept trying to do business as normal.
Launching.
Planning retreats.
Holding containers.
Showing up strong.
But there was nothing “normal” to me about what I was living at that moment.
I had uprooted two decades of identity, rhythm, community, landscape.
My nervous system was recalibrating.
My heart was processing loss and love all at once.
And I was trying to run my business from a version of me that no longer existed.
It wasn’t flowing.
The clarity wasn’t clean.
The energy wasn’t coherent.
The spark felt dimmed.
Then one of my beloved former clients and colleagues — an intuitive — reflected back to me that what I needed at that moment was just a brief 3-week recalibration pause.
And that hit HOME.
So I did something that, from the outside, might have looked like contraction.
I canceled a retreat I had been planning.
I told my team and community I was going off-grid.
I pulled back from commitments.
I gave myself 3 full weeks to get quiet.
No performing, producing, or proving.
Just meditation.
Movement.
Journaling and listening to divine guidance.
I let myself grieve, soften, and not know the how.
And what happened next is the part that still gives me chills.
When I stopped trying to force clarity… it arrived.
Not in a trickle.
In a “divine download.”
